For storesHow it works

From box to first print in an afternoon.

Here's everything that happens, from the first call to getting paid, and exactly what's on your plate versus ours.

  1. A quick call

We talk about your store, where the printer could go, and which plan fits: Own it or the Partner program. We'll tell you honestly whether your spot is likely to get enough traffic.

  2. Get the hardware

Either buy our starter kit, which comes set up for your store, or use an Epson EcoTank you already have plus our station box. See recommended printers.

  3. Set it up (about 15 minutes)

    • Put the printer near the entrance or registers, within reach of an outlet.
    • Plug in the station box and connect it to your internet (Ethernet or Wi-Fi).
    • It finds the printer and connects to PrintAisle by itself. We send a test page to confirm.
    • Tape up the QR sign we give you. That's it.
  4. Customers start printing

Shoppers scan the sign, upload from their phone, and pay from their PrintAisle balance with Apple Pay, Google Pay, or a card. Your printer also appears on our Find a printer page.

  5. Day to day

    • Paper: refill when it runs low. A 500-sheet ream lasts most stores several days.
    • Ink: EcoTank bottles last thousands of pages. Top up the tanks every month or two.
    • Status: your dashboard shows whether each printer is online and what it has printed.
    • Problems: if a print fails, the customer gets their money back automatically. You don't handle refunds or complaints.
  6. Get paid

On the Own plan, print revenue goes to your bank account through Stripe, minus $20 a month and 10% per print. On the Partner plan, we send your share every month. Every print is itemized in your dashboard.

Under the hood

Built so nothing goes wrong at your counter.

No screen to break

There's no touchscreen at the printer. Customers use their own phones, so there's nothing to wipe down, vandalize, or replace.

Pay before it prints

Nothing prints until the customer has paid. If the printer is offline, customers can't pay in the first place.

Automatic refunds

If a job fails, or the printer goes offline with jobs waiting, customers are refunded within minutes without anyone stepping in.

Outbound-only connection

The station box only makes outgoing secure connections. No port forwarding and no changes to your network.

Prints only at the printer

Customers print from the printer's own page, so pages don't pile up in the tray for strangers to read.

Files deleted fast

Documents are deleted 30 minutes after printing. Your staff never see them, and neither do we.
